During the first lesson she has heard that the names ending in-or male and female in-a but then, they added, there are exceptions.
Many names ending in-ma derived from the ancient greek (as an axiom, automation, climate, dilemma, diploma etc..) Are male. Other
ending in-o (soprano, alto, mezzo-soprano) are male names that always refer to women, so if you do not specify the name is correct to say "It 'was a famous contralto," but if we add the name of cash, then the article and the adjective must be feminine and it is good to say "The famous soprano Maria Callas."
The moment, however, begins when at some point of our journey we understand that there are names of things that have meaning to the male and the female another.
